Oceania Cruises, the world’s leading culinary and destination-focused cruise line, has launched a new social media initiative, #OLifeCookingChallenge, for those who wish to re-create some of Oceania Cruises’ delectable signature dishes at home.
The challenge is simple. Each week, Oceania Cruises will share a recipe on its Blog and invite its followers to put on their chef hats and get involved.
All participants will be invited to share a photo or video of themselves on Facebook preparing the recipe or final plated dish. At the end of each week, The Culinary Centre team and Executive Chef and Director of Culinary Enrichment Kathryn Kelly, who celebrates nearly a decade with Oceania Cruises and is the pioneer of The Culinary Centre, will judge the best entries for a chance to be featured on Oceania Cruises’ social channels. All entries must feature the hashtag: #OLifeCookingChallenge.
The inspiration behind the #OLifeCookingChallenge was born out of a desire from Oceania Cruises’ Culinary Centre team to stay creative while spending more time at home. The team formed an internal cooking challenge, sharing delicious onboard recipes with each other online. It felt only natural to extend the #OLifeCookingChallenge, so that everyone who has come to know and love the brand renowned for having The Finest Cuisine At Sea®, could try their hand at some famed Oceania Cruises dishes.
Jacque Pépin’s Roasted Chicken
The first recipe of the #OLifeCookingChallenge is one of Executive Chef & Director of Culinary Enrichment, Kathryn Kelly’s all-time favourites – Jacques Pépin’s Roasted Chicken. French born master chef and TV personality, Jacques Pépin is also Oceania Cruises’ Executive Culinary Director, and has long inspired its award-winning culinary program.
Not only is this dish incredibly wholesome, but it is a versatile recipe which can be paired with any grain or vegetables you have in the fridge. The full recipe can be found here.
The team at Oceania Cruises is excited to see the results of the challenge over the coming weeks, so throw on an apron, pour a glass of your favourite wine, and join us.
