Discover Hobart’s ‘dark side’ with Inspiring Journeys Dark Mofo Long Weekend, a thought provoking and unique celebration of winter featuring an array of art installations, tantalising feasts, music, fire, light and noise.
After a successful 2021 festival, this year, Dark Mofo ‘Resurrection’ will go back to being a two-week festival and already, some big-name artists have been confirmed – from musicians including celebrated German composer and producer Nils Frahm and Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth, to artists such as Doug Aitkin and video and new media artist, Bill Viola.
Travellers can enjoy wandering through central Hobart while exploring the many art installations along the way or taking a tour through the after-dark attractions on offer, journeying deep into the delights of the winter solstice night.
Inspiring Journey’s 4-day immersive Dark Mofo tour departs on 17 June 2022 and incorporates unforgettable experiences, such as tickets to Dark Mofo’s Winter Feast, a private lunch at Tasmania’s famed Agrarian Kitchen, Posh Pit tickets to MONA and plenty of time to take in the sights and sounds of the Dark Mofo Festival. Total cost for the 4-day tour is $2,396 per person, adult twin.
As Tasmania’s premier mid-winter festival, Dark Mofo was created by David Walsh, founder of the Museum of Old and New Art and its creative cluster DarkLab, in celebration of the confrontational, thought provoking and dark elements of Hobart in winter.
