The Mudgee Region, already well-known for its incredible food and wine scene is pleased to announce a new festival to the culinary calendar. Fermenta, taking place across Kandos and Rylstone on Saturday 13 March will explore a journey from land to life while celebrating all things fermentation.
Guests can now purchase tickets to a line-up of events – including entertainment, educational and how-to workshops throughout the day, and finishing with the Twilight Picnic on the Cudgegong River at the Rylstone Showground.
Some headlining events include Breakfast with an Alpaca, Wild Stories Foraging Guide, Kombucha Demonstration and Brewing Workshops, How to Make Honey Ginger Beer, Sourdough Crumpets Making, Chocolate Fermentation Classes and even a Traditional Sauerkraut Demonstration.
Entertainment will help set the mood throughout the day and at the twilight picnic, with Riverina-bred singer songwriter, William Crighton headlining a diverse line-up of performances. A renowned storyteller combining traditional music with experimentation, Crighton’s live show has been received to high acclaim across the world with performances at Blues Fest, WOMAD and Woodford Folk Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and Boomtown.
Crowd favourite Gramophone Man will kick things off at the major picnic event, with Mudgee’s own Tenielle Jane and Bathurst’s Andy Nelson. While at the Twilight Picnic, guests will enjoy the musical magic of Crighton’s five-piece band, who will be joined by Bathurst duo Smith & Jones following a Welcome to Country and Traditional Smoking Ceremony.
