Alaska and the Rockies by sea, rail and road

For many people, an ultra-luxe cruise abord Silversea’s latest ship in Alaska is the trip of a lifetime but Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller, has made the experience even more special by adding on a tour of the Canadian Rockies featuring the iconic Rocky Mountaineer train and the most famous hotels in the Rockies.

And enhancing the whole 18-night holiday in 2024 even further are savings of up to A$2,150 per couple for bookings made with Cruise Traveller by 31 July 2023.

This exclusive cruise, rail and stay package stars Silversea’s latest, most innovative and most luxurious and spacious vessel yet, the boutique and bespoke, 728-guest Silver Nova. To be launched in July 2023, the sleek and elegant Silver Nova will offer glass balconies overlooking the sea from every stateroom as well as spectacular pool decks, eight fine dining restaurants and glass elevators facing the ocean, and will rank as one of the world’s most eco-sensitive cruise ships, with advanced hybrid technology that utilises fuel cells, batteries and shoreside power to be totally emission-free while in port – an industry first.

All guests will also enjoy the services of a personal butler, an open bar throughout the cruise and complimentary excursions ashore, adding to the non-stop indulgence.

The new, uber-luxe, ‘Gold in the Rockies and Silver on the Seas’ holiday package is available on four dates between May and July 2024.

The 18-night journey begins with a night in Anchorage, Alaska, followed by a spectacular, seven-night voyage aboard Silver Nova from Seward to Vancouver and including the mighty glaciers, mountains, quaint towns, native culture and abundant wildlife that Alaska is famous for. Four nights in a Vancouver hotel follow, with time to explore the beautiful city before it’s time to board the renowned Rocky Mountaineer train for an unforgettable, two-day trip in plush Goldleaf Class, with its gourmet meals and panoramic windows, to pristine, mountain-nestled Lake Louise for two nights in the iconic hotel, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. From Lake Louise, the tour of the rugged Rockies continues by coach to Banff for two nights in the equally famous and grand, Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, cradled by the majestic peaks of the Rockies. A night in Calgary ends the journey.
