APT announces exclusive Kimberley cruise with acclaimed chef Luke Nguyen

Luke Nguyen’s gastronomic journeys through Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar have become a popular highlight of APT’s Southeast Asia tours. Now, with 2021 departures selling fast across APT’s domestic programs, the company has announced the return of long-time APT Ambassador, acclaimed chef, author and television personality Luke Nguyen as the host of an exclusive Kimberley adventure in 2021.

Nguyen will join APT’s 14-day Kimberley Coastal Cruise & Purnululu Experience with Luke Nguyen departing 8 July 2021 which includes a nine-night cruise on a small expedition ship, the MS Caledonian Sky, two nights in Kununurra and two nights at APT’s exclusive Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge. Prices start from $15,595 per person, twin share, plus a Fly Free offer or an early booking saving of $2,000 per couple. Space on this unique journey is limited and this trip will sell fast.

Guests will share Luke Nguyen-inspired meals with the man himself as he hosts the dining experiences – including a special three-course feast at the wilderness lodge, and savour dishes he has influenced throughout the journey. Commenting on the trip, Luke Nguyen said,

“I’ve heard so much about the Kimberley being an inspiring and special place to visit and I can’t wait to get there. I am excited by the prospect of being involved in shaping the menu for the cruise and for the opportunity to learn more about incorporating native ingredients while sharing my love for food. I’m also looking forward to being able to serve up something special when we are staying at the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge and very much hope my involvement serves to enhance what will be a truly wonderful holiday experience.”

Commencing in Kununurra, the gateway to East Kimberley, meet Luke Nguyen for this incredible cruise of the Kimberley Coast. Venture out on daily Zodiac excursions to remote locations typically inaccessible to most travellers. Highlights include reaching the 80-metre King George Falls, exploring ancient Indigenous rock art on Bigge Island and witnessing Montgomery Reef rise from the sea as the tide recedes. But it’s hard to beat the exhilarating high-powered boat trip through the tidal phenomenon of Horizontal Falls. There’s also an optional helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls for incredible views of the landscape.

After a night in Kununurra, just 20 guests will continue travelling with Luke Nguyen while spending their days on land soaking in the Kimberley sun in Purnululu National Park, Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm. There’s a three-course open-air dinner prepared by Luke Nguyen at APT’s Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge, then its back to Kununurra for the night before the journey’s end. The All-Inclusive Small Ship Experience

There’s no better way to navigate some of Australia’s most remote coastlines than aboard the MS Caledonian Sky. This small expedition ship is owned and operated by APT, meaning each element of the journey is handcrafted for the perfect adventure, from every included shore excursion to the route itself. With an expert 10-member expedition team on hand, guests will venture further, see more and do more. Plus, the all-inclusive onboard lifestyle is all about enjoying the finer things in life, like great food, wine and a little pampering along the way, knowing that all the little details are taken care of by APT.

A Touch of Luxury in the Bush

Located in the heart of Purnululu National Park, APT’s Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge gives travellers the very best access to the region’s best sites, including Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge, Echidna Chasm and Mini Palms Gorge.
