P&O Cruises Australia will take its place on the country music stage again this year, returning as a major partner of the popular Groundwater Country Music Festival.
Australia’s home-grown cruise line has announced it will once again sponsor the P&O Cruises People’s Choice Award at the Gold Coast music festival to be held from November 12-14, 2021.
Under the partnership, festival-goers who cast a vote for their favourite act will also go in the draw to win a cruise for two on P&O’s next dedicated country music themed cruise, departing Brisbane, Sydney, or Auckland in late 2022.
The winner of the People’s Choice award will have the opportunity to perform onboard P&O’s Country Music Festival at Sea.
P&O Cruises first sponsored the People’s Choice Award at the 2019 Groundwater Country Music Festival ahead of its inaugural country music cruise in December 2019.
With last year’s Groundwater festival cancelled due to the global pandemic, P&O Cruises Head of Entertainment Brett Annable said the cruise line was excited to be back on board for the 2021 festival, featuring a stellar line up including The Wolfe Brothers, Adam Harvey, Sara Storer and Gina Jeffreys.
“Country music is thriving around Australia and we’re thrilled to be able to support local performers and fans through our sponsorship of the Groundwater festival as well as our new country music themed cruises,” Mr Annable said. “Our cruises are all about great entertainment and good times with friends so it’s a fantastic partnership for us.”
P&O Cruises is offering three country music cruises next year including a sailing from Brisbane on October 21, 2022, Auckland on November 11, 2022 and Sydney on December 9, 2022. Fares start from $529 per person quad share for the Brisbane departure.
