American Queen Voyages (AQV) will debut a new deluxe exploration ship in 2023 and offer 26 all-inclusive expeditions to Alaska, with earlybird savings of US$600 per couple now available for bookings made by 31 March 2022.
In addition, AQV Alaska bookings made before 31 March 2022, will not need a deposit made until 30 June 2022.
In 2023, American Queen Voyages will debut the new 186-guest expedition ship, Ocean Discoverer, which will join twin sister, Ocean Victory, on a series of 11 and 12-day deep-nature adventures to less visited destinations in Alaska from May to October, 2023.
Adding to the value are a host of complimentary inclusions such as a pre-cruise hotel stay, all onboard meals, onboard beverages, comprehensive shore excursions, port charges and ships gratuities.
Purpose-built for low impact, high-comfort exploration in remote areas and sporting an innovative design and swept-back X-bow that promises a smoother ride, the deluxe, eco-friendly Ocean Discoverer and Ocean Victory, which begins cruising this year, will be able to access secluded destinations bigger ship cannot reach. The new, hi-tech, clean-fuel ships will each boast a spectacular, aft-facing infinity pool, jacuzzi, two restaurants, panoramic observation lounge, library, fitness centre, piano bar and 93 luxury staterooms – all with ocean views and the majority with private balconies. Each vessel will also carry Zodiac crafts, kayaks and a team of naturalists, marine biologists, scientists and historians.
American Queen Voyages’ foray into Alaska in 2023 will see the line take nature-lovers to secluded, less visited villages as well as breathtaking glaciers and wildlife sanctuaries. A total of 26 10 or 11-night voyages are available from Sitka in Alaska to Vancouver, Canada, or vice versa, with a one-night, pre-cruise hotel stay also included.
Smaller, more remote and less visited destinations in Alaska featured in the cruises include the island town of Sitka, the black bears, humpback whales and bald eagles of Frederick Sound, the hiking, moose and native Tlingit culture of Kake, the spectacular glaciers dropping into the fjords of Endicott and Tracy Arms, the pristine ‘Little Norway’ wilderness of Petersburg, the harbour village of Wrangell, the towering sea cliffs and waterfalls of Misty Fjords, the traditional Tsimshian community of Metlakatla and the colourful native culture and salmon centre of Ketchikan.
Complimentary shore and Zodiac excursions as well as kayaking from the ship’s own marine platform will be available throughout each voyage.
An 11-night Alaska expedition package with American Queen Voyages starting in Vancouver on 13 September 2023, is available from US$5353 per person, twin-share, in an ocean-view stateroom, including a pre-cruise hotel stay in Vancouver and a 10-night nature-infused journey from Vancouver to Sitka aboard the new Ocean Discoverer. This is a saving of US$300 per person. Fares also include onboard beverages, shore excursions and ships gratuities. The savings and zero deposit offer are valid for bookings made by 31 March 2022. Offers are subject to availability and conditions apply.
