Pioneering small ship expedition cruise company Heritage Expeditions is giving adventurous Kiwis two new opportunities to explore the furthest reaches of New Zealand’s backyard this summer.
The Christchurch-based company is excited to announce two new voyages exploring rarely visited parts of the country on Unseen Fiordland, Stewart Island and The Snares and Auckland Islands and The Snares.
The new voyages replace the Kiwi company’s January Ross Sea departure which had to be cancelled after the Ministry of Health announced it was denying permission for Spirit of Enderby to return to New Zealand from Antarctica at the completion of the voyage.
Heritage Expeditions 8-day Unseen Fiordland, Stewart Island and The Snares voyage combines the primordial majesty of Fiordland with the time-forgot rawness of wildlife-rich Stewart Island and the internationally renowned wildlife haven The Snares. It departs from Queenstown and includes a night at the Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa, a scenic drive and 3-hour nature cruise of Milford Sound prior to boarding the vessel.
While its Auckland Islands and The Snares 7-day expedition explores the rarely-visited Subantarctic wonderland of UNESCO World Heritage Sites Auckland and Snares Islands on the ultimate New Zealand wilderness safari.
