Scenic showcases Wonders of Japan & South Korea land journeys for 2023-24

Scenic has unveiled its new 2023/24 Japan & South Korea luxury land journeys collection featuring a curated selection of handcrafted itineraries, that uncover the true oriental wonders of Japan and South Korea, beyond the glittering lights of its modern cities.

Scenic’s Japan and South Korea luxury land journey collection delves deeper into what lies just beneath the surface, where serenity, tradition, authentic culture and history flourish. New to the 2023/24 collection is the 15-day Japan Unveiled itinerary, a journey of discovery of Japan’s ancient past, stoic traditions, spiritual heart and wonderous natural landscapes, which takes guests from the southern Island of Kyushu in Fukuoka through to Honshu Island and Tokyo.

The new 2023/24 collection also features more exclusive Scenic Enrich experiences including private sumo wrestler demonstrations, dinners hosted by a Geisha and Maiko, traditional tea drinking ceremonies in Kimonos, Taiko Drumming lesson and slow cruising on a traditional Japanese Yakatabune boat. New destinations also feature with additional stops in Ichinomiya, Ainokura, Takaoka and Shogawa Gorge.

Scenic’s Asia Journey Designer Adam Burke said, “we’re excited to reveal our new 2023/24 Japan and South Korea collection at a time when these destinations are in such high demand. In Japan we’ve gone above and beyond to curate the most authentic and immersive cultural experiences on offer, with extra Scenic Freechoice experiences to provide more personalised guest activities. From poignant World War personal memorials to spiritual temples and pagodas, to an active Osaka walking tour and night visits to Izakayas, guests have the ultimate choice of what experience suits them”.

Burke added that in South Korea, Scenic was the first to undertake a 10-night luxury round trip tour from Seoul that visited mystical ancient temples, rolling tea plantations, charming fishing villages, yellow fields of rapeseed flowers and cities that never sleep, making it an enlightening and ever-exciting journey. New features in the 10-day Soul of South Korea itinerary include witnessing Seungmu, a Korean dance performed by Buddhist monks at Bulguksa temple, and a private dinner with entertainment at a Hanok, a traditional Korean house design originating from 14th century during the Joseon dynasty.
