Silversea’s newest member of the fleet, Silver Muse, is currently in Australasian waters for the first time ever. Travel & Cruise Weekly got to spend a few nights on board getting to know this beautiful ship. Here is a what to expect for those lucky enough to be travelling this season, or for those of you who are just looking for inspiration for your next cruise.
Cabins
All suites are ocean view and all have a private balcony. They are well appointed and all attended by a private butler service 24 hours a day. Bathrooms include a full size bath. There is a walk in wardrobe and plenty of drawer space.
Living Spaces
Throughout the ship there are numerous lounges for passengers to relax and unwind. Tor’s Observation Library on deck 11 offers great ocean views. Or the Panorama lounge on deck 9 has views of the ship’s wake. The Connoisseurs Corner on deck 8 has a Gentleman’s Club atmosphere for those wanting to indulge their love of cigars or cognac. Next door is the Art’s Café, a casual spot to sit and enjoy a coffee or tea.
In the centre of the ship on deck 5 is the expansive Dolce Vita lounge, with plenty of space for passengers to sit and relax or to meet up with others for a pre-dinner drink.
Dining
Silver Muse has eight restaurants on offer. Instead of the traditional main dining room, Muse has opted for more variety. Atlantide on deck 4 offers a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner. Asian inspired Indochine offers the flavours of Vietnam, India and Thailand. Kaiseki, also located on deck 4 is teppanyaki style at night, but by day is the destination for fresh sushi and sashimi. For finer dining guests can try the Relais & Chateaux-listed La Dame, also located on deck 4.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner is La Terrazza on deck 7. Offering buffet style dining during the day, it turns into a delicious Italian themed dining experience at night.
If you want to be outside then The Grill poolside on deck 10 serves burgers, wraps, salads and more throughout the day. At night it turns into Hot Rocks where guests can cook their own steaks, fish and prawns at their table. Or for a truly Italian experience the pizzeria on deck 11 – Spaccanapoli – is the place for some of the best pizza at sea. Enjoy lunch or dinner under the stars here.
Some of the rest
Silver Muse also offers all the other things you would expect on a luxury cruise ship. Lectures during the day, shows at night, and great music played at various bars and lounges throughout the ship. Not to mention the casino and card room.
The pool area offers plenty of lounges for those who want to grab a tan, plus couches and seating undercover. As well as the pool there are two whirlpools to relax in with a glass of bubbles.
And of course a fitness centre to work off all those extra calories that have been consumed. Not to mention the expansive Zagara Spa for a huge range of indulgent treatments.
Silver Muse carries only 596 passengers, and its sleek and elegant design make it a destination in itself and one we would highly recommend.
