Due to popular demand, Viking has announced the release of 81 additional 2023 departure dates, across three of its most popular river voyages, including the newly released 15-day Lyon, Provence & the Rhineland journey from Amsterdam to Avignon, which is fast becoming a favourite Viking itinerary.

Viking’s 10-day Portugal’s River of Gold sailing season has been extended to include departures in November and December, while the 15-day Lyon, Provence & the Rhineland will now be operating from April through to October and the 8-day Lyon & Provence journey includes additional departures in March and November 2023.

With some stateroom categories already sold out on several 2023 departure dates, these additional departures provide guests with the opportunity to secure their stateroom of choice.

The new 15-day Lyon, Provence & the Rhineland itinerary from Amsterdam to Avignon or vice versa combines two of Viking’s most popular itineraries exploring the Rhine River and France’s Rhône River revealing a rich tapestry of diverse cultures and inspiring landscapes. Guests will discover the grand cathedrals, historic cities, medieval towns and spectacular scenery of the Middle Rhine – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before exploring a taste of France including Avignon’s Palace of the Popes and the capital of French gastronomy Lyon.
