W Brisbane partners with Queensland Art Gallery

W Brisbane and  Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) have announced their brand-new partnership that has kicked off in line with the opening of ‘The 10th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ (APT10). For visitors with an appetite for bold artworks and a playful eye for design, the five-minute walk from QAGOMA to W Brisbane makes it the ideal destination for a stylish stay, no matter the occasion.

Now open until 25 April 2022, QAGOMA’s APT10 exhibition will highlight the diversity and vibrancy of art and creative practice from the Asia Pacific region. The W Brisbane x QAGOMA partnership comes from a clear design synergy between the two spaces that illuminates from both the outside in, creating places to meet and mingle over daring art pieces and adventurous design.

Make your stay action packed with unmistakable, unforgettable experiences. Start your day immersed in the most compelling artwork from across the Asia Pacific at APT10 then head back to W Brisbane where that energy for fresh designs continues from the Living Room Bar, to WET® Deck through to the rooms and suites – and beyond.

Innovative design and custom furnishings have been curated with intricate detail from the moment guests step into the magnetic world of W Brisbane.

Enter the hotel’s sensory environment and follow a staircase of timber river reeds to Welcome, where you will find a playground of polished concrete floors and metallic textures, as well as a tower of tropical fruit and an iconic Aussie thong for good measure. Earth tones, sedimentary layers and frayed edges are found, multilayered with textures of the serpentine river and mixed with vibrant artwork from celebrated Australian artist, Reko Rennie.

“The partnership with W Brisbane and QAGOMA has been long awaited and we’re excited to be able to offer an experience the complements that of the gallery, said General Manager of W Brisbane, Haldon Philp.

In celebration of all things arty, W Brisbane brings its own creative take and original twist to the traditional High Tea with an art inspired ‘Eat Your Art Out high tea in the Living Room Bar.

Guests can flex their creative muscles to paint their own panna cotta, and indulge in delicious, themed desserts like cherry chocolate profiteroles, Valrhona chocolate mousse tart, pomme verte mousse and Lemon myrtle scones.
