APT has announced additional dates to its Kimberley Cruising 2023 holidays as well as a number of new tours combining cruise and 4WD adventures throughout the remote region.
The new dates and itineraries build on APT’s reputation as experts in Kimberley travel and mark the continuation of APT’s relationship with luxury cruise company Ponant. The French-flagged company’s elegant and luxurious ship Le Soleal will join Ponant’s equally stylish Le Laperouse in showcasing the best of this beautiful coast for APT’s Kimberley Small Ship Expedition Cruising range.
New dates exploring the stunning Kimberley coast between Broome and Darwin have been announced with the season operating from 23 June to 11 September 2023.
The 11-day Kimberley Coast and the Top End journey from Darwin to Broome aboard Le Laperouse is a true voyage of discovery, with daily excursions on inflatable Zodiac vessels revealing stunning ancient rock art, hidden gorges and spectacular waterfalls along the coastline.
Highlights include King George Falls and seeing Australian colonial history at Careening Bay. Explorations along the King George and Hunter rivers delve deeper into the heart of the Kimberley, with the Zodiac trip along the Hunter offering the chance to see wild mangrove forests and saltwater crocodiles.
Off the coast, visits to stunning Ashmore Reef, the tidal phenomenon of Montgomery Reef, the diverse natural wonders of the Buccaneer Archipelago and the beautiful Lacepede Islands are sure to delight and enchant. Prices start from $12,595 per person, twin share including a saving of $4,200 per couple when booked by 31 January 2023.
For 2023, APT has included the option of Ponant’s slightly larger ship, Le Soleal, from Darwin to Broome or Broome to Darwin. The three departures (29 July, 28 August & 7 September 2023) follow the aforementioned Le Laperouse route, with visits to the same wonderful array of natural wonders and awe-inspiring sights. The 11-day cruises aboard Le Soleal are priced from $11,595 per person, twin share including a saving of $3,800 per couple when booked by 31 January 2023.
All sailings include the signature all-inclusive APT experience Australia’s travel leaders are renowned for. Both ships offer luxurious staterooms and suites with 24-hour room service, elegant public areas, an APT cruise director and host, onboard expedition team and swimming pools, a divine added luxury considering saltwater crocodiles ocean swimming impossible.
Wellness centres are also found on each ship, with a spa, sauna and gym included plus an onboard hair salon. Onboard restaurants serving delicious cuisine, and international house wine, local beer, spirits and soft drinks add further quality. Le Laperouse also features a stunning underwater lounge for viewing the treasures of the deep in supreme comfort.
An intimate experience is promised aboard both ships with Le Laperouse carrying a maximum of 180 guests and Le Soleal, 264.
The 2023 Kimberley Cruising Ponant journeys comprise a further eight itineraries combining land and sea journey, where the vast fiery red landscapes, rivers and gorges of the Kimberley are also explored. Highlights include the iconic Bungle Bungle Range, world famous El Questro Wilderness Park and visits to some of the regions most magical gorges and landscapes, plus stays in APT’s exclusive wilderness lodges.
Perfectly placed in the key locations of Purnululu National Park, Mitchell Plateau and close to Bell Gorge, the secluded lodges combine the comforts of home and the wonder of the Australian bush, and feature spacious cabins with ensuites and private decks, public areas and the finest dining in the wilderness.
