Dining is a key part of your cruising experience, so to help you choose which ship you should sail on next, we’re bringing you a series of comparisons of onboard dining. This week, take a look at the fine dining options onboard luxury cruise ships.


Chartreuse
Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Chartreuse creates a chic Parisian fine dining atmosphere, complemented by incredible ocean views. Serving modern French bistro style food, Chartreuse is available on Seven Seas Splendor, Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager with reservations each evening for dinner, and open for lunch on Seven Seas Explorer on alternate port days. Menu highlights include the seared barbary duck breast with glazed turnips, candied morello cherries and sour cherry mustard and the roasted rack of lamb with rosemary persillade and chickpea fritters.

The Grill by Thomas Keller
Seabourn
The Grill by Thomas Keller restaurant on Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn, and Seabourn Quest is an a unique culinary concept for Chef Keller, exclusive to Seabourn. The restaurant takes inspiration from the classic American restaurant from the 50’s and 60’s but focuses on updated versions of iconic dishes. The experience includes table-side preparations of Caesar salad and ice cream sundaes, as well as a range of other favourites like premium steaks, whole roasted chicken, and Lobster Thermidor, presented a la carte.

Prego
Crystal Cruises
Prego serves Northern Italian favourites, with a modern twist and is on board Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. The design is Venetian-inspired, with artfully covered walls, upholstered furnishings, and dramatic lighting. Do not go past the carpaccio di manzo, mushroom soup and slow-roasted pumpkin ravioli, finishing your meal with tiramisu. Prego is open for dinner and reservations are required, with one dinner per passenger is included in the fare, with additional visits subsequent charged at $30 per person. Those on back-to-back voyages or staying in a penthouse category room are entitled to additional dining experiences.

Lumiere
Scenic
Scenic Eclipse’s Lumiere offers contemporary French fine dining and a Champagne bar. Guests can indulge in a sensational full degustation with paired fine wines without paying anything extra, in line with the company’s all-inclusive policy. Reservations are essential for this very special culinary experience.

La Dame
Silversea
La Dame presents a bespoke French menu from Silversea’s top chefs and is on board Silver Spirit, Silver Cloud, Silver Muse, Silver Wine, Silver Moon, Silver Dawn, Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper. Named after “La Dame de Paris”, or the Eiffel Tower, La Dame is designed to showcase the traditions and culture of French gastronomy and the menu promises “a fusion of tradition and modernity”. The restaurant provides a chic contemporary style, with white table linen and white gloved service.
